  1. Spring Forward ……………

If you look closely the small signs and signals of spring are all around. Like a faintly warmer breeze or the scent of the air in the morning. Quills of emerald wild garlic, crisp and perfumed, blanketing the floors of our woodland. Our Devon long banks begin to bite with nettles and dying ferns uncurl young growth all around us.

As we also emerge from our Winter cocoons our thoughts turn to our homes and gardens.  What better time to consider a makeover for the kitchen and granite or quartz could be the perfect choice for you. If you need inspiration visit us in our Plymouth showroom.  There is something for everyone.abstract-spring-flower web!

  2. Fancy something a little different?

Wright 2More and more clients are requesting marble rather than granite for their kitchen worktops and often the Carrara Bianco marble is the most popular choice.  The soft whites and greys reminiscent of the Victorian era is the most requested marble, however this type of stone requires more care and  maintenance than its counterpart granite due to its high porosity.  It is also fairly easy to scratch and stain.  A fantastic alternative is Bianco Carrara quartzstone as you can see in the photo.  Our clients wanted to achieve the look of the marble but needed the stone to be low maintenance and this quartzstone really fits the bill.  Still maintaining the soft whites and grey of the real thing Bianco Carrara quartzstone doesn’t require sealing as it is non-porous.  It’s extremely scratch resistant and any stubborn marks can be removed with just a gentle rubbing of Cif cream cleanser, something you wouldn’t dream of doing to marble!.  So, if marble appeals to you don’t be put off, come and see our extensive range of different quartzstones.  We stock all the big names; Silestone, Caesarstone, Samsung Radianz Quartz, Compac and many more.

  3. A New Arrival

Azul Noche (275 x 164 cm)A new arrival to our Plymouth yard this week is this beautiful Azul Noce granite with a coral finish.  There are now many different finishes being applied to granites as we find that our clients are seeking alternatives to polished stones.  A popular choice is honed which gives a matt look to the stone.  Honed black granite is very popular for both work surfaces and fire hearths as it gives the look of slate but with the resilience of granite.

But, I digress!!!! Back to our lovely coral finish – this finish gives a combination of both a polished and honed look but the stone is also textured so becoming very touch feely.  The harder areas of the stone are enhanced to give a three dimensional effect.  This works particularly well on stones with larger quartz pieces as in the case of this lovely blue stone.  Azul Noce also has soft greys and creams which lend themselves to any type of kitchen cabinet.  Available to view now, why not pop in and see for yourself.  The kettle’s always on!

  4. A sparkling gem!

These stunning Emerald Pearl worktops really are the icing on the cake for Mr and Mrs T of Plymouth.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEmerald Pearl is a Norwegian granite with great depth of blues and greens.  It is quarried fairly extensively throughout Norway and can vary from silver green to true dark green and blues as shown here.  Always a popular choice as it will grace any choice of kitchen cabinet, from a traditional oak to a high gloss white.  You may want to consider teaming a duck egg blue glass cooker splashback with your Emerald Pearl granite worktops or for the brave amongst you a soft raspberry or even a striking burgundy also lift this beautiful stone.  We usually carry this material in stock so do feel free to come to the showroom and view our slabs.

  6. A Colonial conquest

kit-sinkThis beautiful kitchen with Colonial White granite worktops is a dream come true for a lovely Plymouth couple.  Having a new kitchen can be very stressful so it’s really great when clients get to show off the end result and know that it’s all been worth it.  Colonial White granite has stunning creams, whites and soft understated greys.  Lifting the base colour is a rich, vibrant  aubergine which our clients have taken advantage of by using glass accessories to tie the colours together.  This has created a stunning visual impact.  This kitchen has been sometime in the making and I know they are very proud of their achievement and rightly so!

Come on you Greens!

  8. It’s Elemental

TitaniumWow! Just look what we’ve got arriving in our yard in Plymouth next week all the way from Brazil.  Titanium granite’s dramatic and absolute beauty comes from the contrast of the deep black background and the swirling white and gold veins. The organic beauty of this natural stone makes it an ideal centerpiece for any design project.  It really has to be seen to be appreciated, you are very welcome to visit us and see for yourself the difference having an exciting granite like this could make to your dream kitchen.  Don’t forget, our showroom is open every day of the week.

  9. A Superior Stone

Imperial White kitchenWhat a beautiful kitchen! Our clients were delighted with their Imperial White granite worktops recently fitted.  This very understated granite is  a white stone with a pinkish hue and soft grey black flecks.  It is very naturally beautiful and one of the most unique granites available.  Our clients chose to accentuate the pink tones of the granite with glass splashbacks on the walls and to great effect as it really lifts the worktops and makes this kitchen very warm and welcoming.
