The clocks have gone back and the evenings are getting ever darker. But at Kernow Stone, we are still in bright spirits. The Christmas period (and the extended run-up to it) is always a busy one but this one is shaping up to be even more so.
Perhaps it is something that we wouldn’t have been able to cope with last year, but this year there has been plenty of change. Our first small steps consisted of improving the aesthetics of the yard by hauling out the mud (anyone who came to our yard last year would testify for the thick mud!) and layering on the hardcore to provide a mud-free yard for employees and customers alike!
But the big changes came in our workforce- during the past year, we have recruited 4 highly-skilled Fabricators (with another one joining next week) and 1 not-so-skilled Sales Manager to ensure that we provide the most efficient and effective service that we can to the people of Cornwall.
On top of this we have invested heavily in new machinery for the factory to ensure the highest quality in all our work (although the majority of our work is all hand-crafted) and two new gleaming vans that you have no doubt seen driving at a very sensible speed up and down the A30.
All this has meant that we are able to strengthen our relationships with local Cornish kitchen companies, builders, designers, architects and of course, the general public to build on our growing reputation as the only place for quality, family-run, bespoke stone-work in Cornwall with a friendly smile.
